Steam coming to linux, great performance increases

It's been rumoured for years now, but steam is finally coming to Linux. A private beta test is currently going on, but some games already come with massive performance (fps) increases. It all has to do with OpenGL vs Direct3D. It all looks very promising, and I myself can't wait to get my hands on it. I think this will give linux finally the boost it deserves as the superior OS. The only thing it needed was some commercial support. Go valve!
